Young Boy Arnold
A group of campers were sitting around a fire on the last night of their trip, telling cheesy ghost stories and eating roasted marshmallows. "Tell a story councillor Rick" Asked Jimmy. Jimmy was a smart, 15 year old boy with short black hair and green eyes. He loved ghost stories. He knew of all the best ones and had even started writing his own. "Okay, I'll tell you one I know you haven't heard yet," Replied Rick "but then we have to pack up for the night".
"Now, this story I'm about to tell you is TRUE," Rick said jokingly, "But I don't want you guys to get TOO scared, okay?" Rick finished eating a marshmallow he had just roasted, then he got comfortable and started to speak.
There once was a young boy named Arnold. He was a nice young boy around 12 years of age with a good sense of humour. but he didn't tell a lot of jokes. no, he was too busy watching TV. he LOVED watching TV. If he didn't watch his 6 hours of TV a day, he would get in a terrible mood.
one morning he woke up to go watch his morning cartoons. He walked over to the TV and was about to turn it on when he saw something. Something strange. He saw, reflected in the TV screen, a person. the person was a completely naked woman. though you could hardly notice this, as the person was horrifically decomposed.
Arnold's heart nearly skipped a beat. he quickly looked behind him, but no one was there. When he finally worked up the courage to look back at the TV, the reflection was gone. Arnold decided that he was just tired and was seeing things, so he turned the TV on and watched his usual shows.
Eventually night came, and he had to go to bed. He got into his pyjamas and turned the TV off. Again he saw it. On the TV screen was the reflection of the decomposed woman. Arnold screamed for his mom, and she entered the room. Arnold asked her if she could see the reflection of the woman. after 5 minutes of trying , she couldn't see it, so Arnold gave up and went to sleep, making sure to keep the TV out of his field of vision as he left.
The next morning Arnold checked to see if the reflection was still on the TV, and sure enough it was. So Arnold convinced his parents to let him watch his shows on Their TV. Again night came and he had to go to bed. When he turned his parents TV off he saw it. The reflection of the woman was on the TV. Arnold ran out of the room and into his bed.
Arnold was horribly scared of these reflections, so he started going to his friends houses to watch TV. But every day when he had to turn it off, the reflection would appear. His parents started getting worried, and started taking him to doctors and psychologists. But each time they said that they could find nothing wrong with him.
Eventually Arnold ran out of TV’s to watch. He decided that he would stop watching TV altogether, thus avoiding the reflections. A few days passed, and he hadn’t seen the reflection. He was feeling happier, and was spending more time with his family and friends. He was enjoying his life.
Arnold was eating dinner with his parents when nature called, so he got up and went to the washroom. He washed his hands, then looked in the mirror. His face went pale. The woman’s hands were pressing up against the other side of the mirror, her breath leaving a slight fog as if the mirror was a window. This was too much for Arnold to handle, and he fainted.
Arnold woke up curled up in a ball on the bathroom floor. He tried to get up, but he couldn’t move. The room was pitch black, except for the orange glow coming through from under the door. Everything was quite, except for the faint sound of a woman’s quite, raspy breathing. He heard something start crawling towards him. The quite, uneven thumps echoed sickeningly through the room. Eventually, the thing was on top of him, it’s cold, dry skin rubbing against his. Arnold Could feel the woman’s cold, rotten breath in his ear, and could feel a strange liquid oozing onto his face. For what seemed like ages, the woman stayed in her position, the sound of her raspy breathing echoing in his ear the only thing he could hear. Then suddenly, she started to speak. At first she spoke softly in an almost soothing tone. but she slowly got louder, repeating the same sentence over and over and over. Eventually she was screaming so loud, Blood started spurting out from Arnolds now broken eardrum.
Arnold lived the rest of his life in an insane asylum, spending his days sitting in a chair, repeating the sentence the woman told him all day every day, until he died of a heart attack.
“What was the sentence you may ask?” Rick said quietly. "well… the sentence was… you just lost the game".
